I can remember when President Hinckley first introduced his 6 B's. Be grateful, be smart, be clean, be true, be humble, be prayerful. I memorized those 6 B's in orders in young women and have always remembered them and the message they carry. This month, as Thanksgiving is approaching, I really wanted to take time each time to think about what I am thankful for. I could talk for hours about all the things I am thankful for, but I really wanted to narrow it down to a specific thing I was thankful for in that moment. President Hinckly said,
"Walk with gratitude in your hearts, my dear friends. Be thankful for the wonderful blessings which are yours. Be grateful for the tremendous opportunities that you have."
I just started today, so I am few days behind. But I have a chalkboard posted right outside of our back door that leads to our garage. I walk by it 100 times a day and thought it would be a good place to to post my "thankfuls."
Today I am thankful for
MY HEALTH
With so much sickness going around right now, I am so grateful to be healthy! I am feeling great, my baby is growing and developing normally and I am grateful for that. I am grateful that I am healthy enough to take care of Hayden, Matt, myself and this new baby. It really is a blessing. The H1N1 vaccine isn't available here yet, so I have been really nervous about getting that and being pregnant, but so far so good. Today I am thankful for my health.
On a funny note...I don't know if any of you saw the SNL Weekend Update on Saturday, but they have a bit called "Really?!?" that Seth Meyers and Amy Poehler do together. I had heard on the news that some big companies on Wall Street had received the H1N1 vaccine when there is a shortage nationwide! I was upset about it, as were many Americans. Matt told me that the same thing happened in Calgary with the Calgary Flames hockey team who received their vaccines before most Calgarians did. The vaccine is supposed to go to schools, hospitals, pregnant women (me!me!) and children before anyone else. Anyway...here is the clip from SNL. I thought it was pretty funny!

Halloween in Cleveland
Last weekend Hayden and I braved the 10 hour travel day to go and see Stacey, Justin, Jack and their new baby Anderson! We had such a great trip. It was so nice to just sit and talk, make cookies, get a pedicure, watch the boys play and swoon over Anderson. It was so relaxing and the boys had a lot of fun together. The played cars almost all day long, took baths, went to the park, made Halloween cookies, drew pictures and went trick or treating together. Hayden was the cutest giraffe ever and Jack was the most adorable Batman I have ever seen! They loved getting candy and of course, eating it that night!

Here they are with all their loot. When we poured the candy out Jack said, "Oh my gosh! Look at all that candy!!" They were so excited!
We spent one afternoon playing at this fun little park. It was for kids 5 years old and younger so all the slides, stairs and toys were perfect size for the boys. Hayden went on the swings and the slides for a few minutes, until he found a big car he could push around the park and that's what he did for the rest of the time. That boy and cars! Too funny...

Here's sweet baby Anderson after a bath. So cute!

It was so fun to catch up with Stacey. I miss that girl so much and hate that they live so far away! When we see each other it's like no time has passed and we pick up right where we left off. We have been through a lot together and it is so fun to see her married to a wonderful guy and as a mom to two of the cutest boys ever. She is such a good mom and I am so grateful for her friendship and example. Thanks for letting us crash for a few days Stacey! We miss you guys already!!! You'll have to check out Stacey's blog for more pictures of the weekend.

I Heart October!
I was telling Matt yesterday, that I think October is my favorite month of the year. I love the weather, the produce stands full of apples and pears, the corn mazes and pumpkin patches and the incredible colors! It is so beautiful here in the fall! I love it. I also love October because of Halloween, carving pumpkins, yummy treats and Matt's birthday! We celebrated Matt's 27th birthday a couple weeks ago and had a great day. I made him a big breakfast with cinnamon rolls and all and then we had dinner that night at Matt's favorite, the Crab Pot.

We ate a ton of yummy seafood and ended the night with a layered chocolate, carmel, heath bar cake. Thanks to those of you who called or sent messages to wish him a happy day, he really appreciated it!

We took advantage of sunny, rain-free morning yesterday and headed to Maris Farms with Hayden. He loved it! Everytime we drive by there he gets so excited to see the rows and rows of pumpkins. He got to "drive" some tractors, pick out his own pumpkin, see some goats, sheep, chicken and pigs and eat some yummy kettle corn. He also loved watching the people on the big monster truck ride. He ran around all morning and got good and muddy. He didn't want to leave! Matt and I had a great time watching him have so much fun.

Great Weekend!
One of the things I love about living in a small community is that the H.S. Homecoming is a big deal! From the Homecoming royalty, to the parade to the football game and then the dance - everyone in the community is involved and it is such a fun weekend! Both my brothers TJ and Perry are in high school as is my cousin Andrew, so we were able to watch them participate in all the festivities. First of all, TJ and Andrew were part of the Homecoming royalty. On Thursday night we went to the crowing of the King and Queen at the High School. Both Andrew and TJ looked so handsome and were great representations of our family and the Church. We were so proud of them! Andrew ended up being King which we were so excited about! If it wasn't TJ, we wanted it to be Andrew. They both did a great job!

Thursday night was also The Office Wedding and we were just a little bit excited for that!

Friday was the Homecoming parade and game. Each of the classes create their own float, the royalty is acknowledged and the marching band plays. It is a lot of fun! I remember being up so late the night before finishing up our class floats every year. It is a lot of work!
Here is Prince TJ riding in a Gamblin Motors convertible and Perry on his Class of 2013 float. He is the on at the very top with his hand raised.

The game that night was great and the Hornet's won 33 to 0! Pretty great! Hayden LOVES the football games and came home with 3 mini footballs the cheerleaders kept giving him because he wooed them with that cheesy grin!
Saturday was the actual Homecoming dance and my mom made a delicious, fancy dinner for TJ, his date and their friends. The table looked beautiful and TJ looked so handsome.

I had a great weekend celebrating with TJ and Perry and reliving my high school days! (So glad I am not there anymore though...)
Even though all of that was fun, the BEST part of our weekend happened Friday morning around 9 am, when we had our ultrasound and found out that Hayden will soon have a baby SISTER! I was so excited when I saw her on the screen and just began to cry as the ultrasound tech told me it was for sure a little girl. We are so excited to welcome her into our family in a few months. She was moving around like crazy so we couldn't get many good still pictures, but I loved just sitting there watching her move around inside of me. We are so excited! A GIRL!
Here I am 19 1/2 weeks, feeling great and holding my pink "It's Girl" balloons!

Puyallup Fair and Chase's Birthday
A few weeks ago we went with some friends to the Puyallup Fair. It was a beautiful night and Hayden loved seeing all the animals, watching all the kids on the rides (you have be 2 yrs. old to ride them...bummer!) and eating junk food that his mom doesn't let him have very often. We did eat some great food!
I love the Puyallup Fair. I have gone almost every year since I was 14. The first time I went was with my new friend Stacey and her family. We made it a tradition to go together every year after that, so I totally missed her this year and thought about her the whole time! It was fun to go with Matt and Hayden and enjoy what the Northwest has to offer.

Mom and Hayden at the petting zoo. He loved petting the goats!

Big smile in the horse barn.

Just hanging out, taking it all in and eating some curly fries.
Monday was my brother Chase's 22nd birthday. He is off-track at BYU-I so he is home working until January. I know it is not the most fun for him, but we love having him around and it was fun to celebrate his birthday with him. He is an incredible person, brother, and uncle and we love watching him grow up! I can't believe he is 22!! Happy Birthday Chasers!

Kind of fuzzy, but so cute!

Jumping on the tramp with Grandma before the party began. He LOVES being on the trampoline, it is hilarious to watch.
So that's what we've been up to lately! We have a great weekend planned, so hopefully I will have some more pictures to post soon.

You've Got Mail
Sorry I have been so bad about blogging lately! I just got a fun package in the mail the other day!! I love getting mail, especially when it is a CD of adorable pictures. My friend Molly was here visiting her sister for the weekend, so I set up a time for her to take a few pictures of Hayden. It was such a pretty afternoon and she did a great job. Thanks Molly! It was so fun to see her and her adorable daughter Ruby. I am hoping now that her sister lives up this way we will get to see her more often. Here are some of my favorites from Hayden's 18 month shoot. Could he get any yummier?? I don't think so!

I just love this boy so much! He is so much fun and has the most outgoing, tender personality. He says "Hi" to everyone no matter where we are. I don't think he really gets it yet, but he loves laying his head on my tummy and giving the baby kisses. It is so cute! He is going to be a GREAT big brother.
So for a quick baby #2 update: I am almost 19 weeks along with a due date of March 3rd. I am feeling a ton better than I did a month ago and am starting to love being pregnant. I have a check-up on Wednesday and then we will set a time for an ultrasound a few days after that! I can't wait to see how this little one is growing and if Hayden will have a baby sister or brother. We are so excited about this new addition to our family and are trying to enjoy every second with Hayden before our lives turn upside down!

Labor Day Weekend
We had a great Labor Day weekend! I know I am a bit delayed in the post...but oh well!
One of my favorite cousins (don't worry Adrienne, you are my other favorite), Jessica got married in Park City so we were able to go for a family bridal shower and the wedding festivities. It was a beautiful weekend in Salt Lake and we enjoyed getting together with a lot of my dad's side of the family who we don't get to see very often. We stayed two nights with my Grandma and Grandpa in Salt Lake and then in a condo in Park City for a few nights.
Hayden and I flew down a day before Matt so we were able to walk around Temple Square together. Hayden loved all the ponds and the fountains. He could not get over this fountain and just kept yelling "wa-wa!" He was amazed!

He walked up to the Temple doors and immediately started knocking and reaching to get in, I had to get a picture.

We finished the morning with Lion House rolls and a lemonade. It was so fun being on a little date, just the two of us. He was such a great little traveler and had so much fun the whole weekend.
On Friday night, Matt and I met my old roommate and great friend Mindy and her new husband Jon for dinner in Provo. Mindy and I travelled to Brazil together a few years back so we reunited at Tucano's which is a really great Brazilian restaurant. It was SO good to see Mindy and meet Jon. We just sat there and talked for a few hours, and even after that I didn't want to leave. Thanks so much for meeting us you guys!
Jessica and Julio's wedding was held at this really beautiful park in Park City. Jessica looked gorgeous and it was a great day!

One of the best parts of the weekend was being able to see my sister Erin (and meet her new BF Jake- who we LOVED). She is so good with Hayden and he loves being with her. I miss that girl!

We are so excited for Jessica and Julio and wish them the very best!
